Beginner Classes

Beginner

New to yoga, start here. This class is a step above our "Gentle Beginner" class, yet still intended for students who desire a significantly slower pace and more instruction on how to do postures, alignment & terminology. This is a great way to ease into our other levels at the studio or a great place to stay and refine your practice. Keep in mind, beginner does not imply easy, but it is inclusive for any yoga fitness level.

Intensity Level: 1

Gentle Beginner

This class is our most basic and gentle yoga class. The focus is on breathing and gentle stretches with easy transitions between postures. Yoga props are highly encouraged and are available to borrow at the studio. The room is not heated, but not cold either. This is our most basic class at The Yoga Room and is inclusive to any yoga fitness level.

Level 1 Classes

Yin Yoga

The Deepest Stretch Period. Yin, Aka Long, Slow & Deep incorporates long holds and deep stretching floor postures to help increase mobility throughout muscle ligaments, tendons and fascia. This is not a flow or Vinyasa style class, which may sound easy, for many it can be one of the greatest mental challenges ever experienced in yoga and will absolutely make students stronger in every sense.

This is a class for anybody of any fitness level. Props are encouraged and breathing is emphasized! The foundation of this class is about creating mobility and learning to quiet the mind, it is extremely beneficial to incorporate this style of yoga into a daily routine.

Intensity Level: 2

Vinyasa

This class will keep the body moving and flowing between postures; students learn dynamic transitions while challenging the breath. Vinyasa means conscious movement, which is the focus of this class. All Levels Power Vinaysa

A class for anybody that wants a 'Power Style" class, but willing to modify to suite their needs. It's a challenging practice as most of our "power" style classes are, but this one is inclusive to any level with options to increase or decrease the intensity. This is a blend of power yoga and vinyasa flow yoga. It incorporates smooth transitions of postures while focusing on the breath.

This is a thorough class that will push you physically and mentally. It can be more up tempo at times and include longer holding of postures to increase strength and stamina. Power Vinyasa

Challenging.... You can do it! This is a great class for students just starting out at The Yoga Room who desire the first step into the Power Yoga practice. This class is a blend of Power Yoga (long holding of postures) and vinyasa (flow and connecting of postures).

Power Vinyasa & Yin

Daniel's Personal Favorite. This is the best of both yoga worlds! Yin yoga; a passive approach to lengthening the muscles, ligaments and fascia. Power Vinyasa Yoga; an active powerful flowing practice. Sometimes this class will be taught with the Power Vinyasa first & Yin second, and other times it will be just the opposite. Both are valid ways of combining Power Vinyasa & Yin yoga.

This will create deep mobility throughout the body as well as strengthen and tone. This class is usually taught for an 1hr and 45 minutes which includes at least 45 minutes of yin. Students tend to experience intense emotions in this class by facing the challenge of holding deep stretches for several minutes at a time as well as sitting with the minds endless thoughts. This is a class that everyone should experience at least once. Caution: this class is potentially addicting!

Intensity Level: 3

Power Vinyasa

The Yoga Room's Signature Class. This class is great for level 1 and level 2 students. There will be more options available to modify poses to push physical boundaries. This is a challenging workout that incorporates a blend of Power Yoga ( long holding of postures) and Vinyasa Yoga ( flow and connecting postures) to produce a well rounded cross training experience.

Besides the thorough workout, students will also get deep stretches from head to toe and will have no choice but to walk out of the class feeling amazing. The perfect balance of strength, stamina and mobility.

Intensity Level: 3

Level 2-3 Classes

Power Vinyasa

These Classes Rock!!! This is for the experienced yoga student, however; open for any level to attend. It is recommend to take 5-10 Power Vinyasa 1 or 1-2 classes prior to attending this class. Level 2-3 classes are challenging with more options for inversions, handstands and balances. As with every class it can be modified to the student’s own personal needs and circumstances.

This class is more up beat at times and tend to get warmer than the other classes. After the thorough flow it will be complemented with deep stretches at the end to leave students feeling amazing! Usually students attend classes that work best with their schedules, we do not place restrictions on who can attend which classes.
